computer room.jpg
The computers were donated but because of the area where the school is, the computers have to be kept in a windowless room under lock and key. The students have access to the computers approximately once a week for a half an hour.

Because of their impoverished background, most of the children do not have access to a warm meal at home. For this reason, there is a feeding program in place. Here the children are walking in line to the kitchen where they will be given a hot meal.

The ladies working in the kitchen are volunteers from the community. They arrive at the school early in the morning to prepare a hot breakfast for the children, which they then distribute. Then they prepare a hot lunch for the children too. Here the children are receiving a rice dish and they received a vegetable with it.

dishwasher.jpg
There are no industrial sized dishwashers or any dishwasher at all. Everything is washed manually by this lady. Another volunteer.

plastic bags.jpg
There are more than 35 students per class. The plastic bags behind the seats are for dirt. The children are not allowed to walk to a proper dirt bin in the class. Moving around in the class is restricted because of the danger of one student hurting another - there have been incidents of stabbing in the classroom.
